WFMC British Open Success for Lions

The WFMC held their annual British Open Championships this weekend gone at Solihull Leisure Centre.

Elli Harber and Emilia Azarova represented Lions at this event and were left to wait a very long time before competing, as is sometimes the nature of these opens.

First up was Emilia, taking on Lacey Daily of Conflict Muay Thai asserted her dominance immediately controlling with powerful teeps and upsetting her opponent’s rhythm. After just a short time the referee called the stoppage and Emilia won the bout. In doing so Emilia retained her title from the 2018 Championship and is the first Lion to do so whilst also going 3 – 0 in as many weeks this year, well done Emilia.

Next up Ellie Harber took on Kasey Garvey of Widnes Kru Lundy, dominating in the first round and setting to in the second forcing a referee stoppage to take her first win of the year and her first title, WFMC British Open Champion, a really good performance putting her opponent to the sword!

Next up for Lions is the WKA English Open 17th February.
